Tater Totz.... hmmmmmm....
well they weren't a band as such, more just a group of friends jamming
and hanging out. Some of the people to appear on the three Tater Totz LPs
are Jeff & Steve McDonald, Pat Smear, Pat Fear, Cherie Currie,
Kim Shattuck (Pandoras, Muffs), Danny Bonaduce (Partridge Family), Michael
Quercio, Dave Nazworthy, and Naoko Yamano, Atsuko Yamano, and Michie Nakatani
(Shonen Knife).
Most of the songs on the three albums are covers of Beatles/ Yoko Ono songs with a few originals thrown in. Tater Totz even performed at Beatlefest in 1988 where they were booed off the stage (Jennifer Schwartz of Lovedolls Superstar fame performed in a green trash bag) and threatened with arrest. |
